About Ha Giang Loop Motorcycle Tour

This is an independent guide to riding the loop, run by people who ride it. We read every listing against what actually happens on the road between Ha Giang city and Meo Vac, then publish the difference. Start with the tours on the homepage.

Why we built this site

Search the loop and you get two kinds of page: a blogger's three-day diary from four years ago, or an operator selling one tour. Neither tells you whether the boat is included, whether the group is eight riders or twenty, or that foreign riders now pay a border permit at the start.

So we put the comparable facts in one table: days, price, who rides the bike, where you get picked up, and what the price does not cover. The rest of the site answers the questions people ask before they hand over a passport scan.

How we choose the tours

We do not list everything sold on the loop. A tour appears here when it meets all of this:

  • A licensed operator with English-speaking guides on the road, not just in the inbox
  • Enough verified reviews to mean something, and a rating that holds up across them
  • Inclusions written plainly, including what you still pay for at the pier and the checkpoint
  • Free cancellation, so a change of plans does not cost you the trip

How we keep it current

Prices and inclusions here were checked in August 2026 against the operators' own listings. Rules on the loop move faster than tour pages do: border permit enforcement tightened in mid-2026, and Ha Giang stopped being a province in June 2025. When something changes on the road, it changes here.

How we make money

The site is free to read. Book through a link here and the platform pays us a commission, at no extra cost to you. It never changes your price, and it never decides the order tours appear in.

We are not a tour operator, we take no payments, and we cannot change or cancel a booking for you.

About the author

Rides the loop out of Ha Giang city most weeks of the season, and has watched it go from a few hundred riders a year to the buses that now leave the Old Quarter nightly. Checks what each listing here actually includes against what happens on the road, and will say when the two-day version is the honest answer for your calendar.
